OUR STORY

A Legacy Of Pursuing Jesus

Rise City began as New Dimensions Christian Center, founded in 1992 by Pastors Greg and Diane Burns to help people unlock their destiny in Jesus. In 2019, the church was entrusted to Pastors Tyler and Mylena Burns, and in 2022 relaunched as Rise City Church.

Today, Rise City is a multi-ethnic, multi-generational family in the heart of Pensacola where people pursue Jesus, heal, and discover the Kingdom Greatness God designed them to walk in.

“The Lord told me when I was 19 that I have been called to speak the truth clearly, beautifully, and unashamedly across all forms of written and spoken media” -Pastor Tyler

Pastor Tyler Burns

Tyler Burns is a pastor, podcaster, TV show host, and speaker. He has served in church ministry for 13 years in various capacities including Youth Pastor, Discipleship Pastor, and Lead Pastor. Along with being Lead Pastor at Rise City Church, he is also the President of The Witness: A Black Christian Collective, a national organization committed to educating, encouraging, and empowering Black Christians to be free; and the host of the acclaimed Pass the Mic podcast.

Pastor Mylena Burns

Pastor Mylena Burns is a wife, mother, worshipper, minister, and daughter of God. In 2010, she was ordained into the ministry and has served the church in various capacities including Worship Pastor, Youth Pastor, and now Lead Pastor. Gifted with songs from the Lord, she released her first worship album in 2015, designed to provide a soundtrack for holistic devotion to Jesus. Pastor Mylena’s passion is that people would clearly see the beauty of Christ and worship Him with their entire lives.

“My purpose is simple: I have been called to create spaces of welcoming love so that the people of God can experience the presence of God without distraction.” – Pastor Mylena

Generosity is worship.

Giving is one way our church family worships, serves Pensacola, and makes room for others to encounter Jesus.
